HOW THIS GLOBAL AIRCRAFT COMPANY USED PREDICTIVE ANALYTICS TO OVERCOME ITS CHALLENGES

OVERVIEW

A Global Aircraft company had to approach HCL technologies to get cured of some of the pain points it has due to the lack of proper technological infrastructure/solution. They required continuous improvement in performance metrics for reliability and service management in a changing commercial aircraft industry serving a dynamic global operator base, Need for re-imagination of current systems of acquiring, cleansing, harmonizing, and analyzing the enormous volume of aircraft sensor data across multiple fleets, Remove the Lag time created by manual processes used to analyze unstructured data from disparate sources.

To resolve these challenges, HCL technologies had to define and implement new technology-based business processes. They developed standards and practices aligned to new processes and technologies across a global organization and reworked the current processes of data flow to enable real-time processing and analytics leading to 'fastest path-to-answer'. The company integrated new technologies with internal solutions across the customer base.

APPROACH

HCL used the Agile Analytics approach to achieve quick results. The team chose three use cases that addressed client pain points and completed three agile sprints that required them to navigate the entire life cycle multiple times. HCL Established an advanced analytics process to continuously improve the 97.9% reliability rating and achieved 75% initial accuracy achieved in identifying service actions and related interruptions. It also established Proactive predictive diagnostics for fast detection of potential failures and maintenance schedule mapping

RESULT:

The global aircraft company could resolve all the challenges with the implementation of this new technology infrastructure entirely based on the Internet of things.
