OVERVIEW:
Dubai has everything in its land, the tallest building, the biggest shopping malls, the largest manmade island, the longest driverless metro system, the highest hotel, the highest residential building, the biggest gold ring, the biggest sweet shop, the biggest choreographed fountain system and much more. But there is one very important thing that money can’t buy..!!! HAPPINESS.
But the government leaves no stone unturned to make UAE the happiest city on the planet. Guided by the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai brings happiness meter as part of Dubai’s smart city initiatives.
APPROACH:
The Happiness Meter is developed and implemented by Smart Dubai Government. It is available as a smartphone app that captures citizen emotion in real-time and displays it in a transparent dashboard. Using emerging technologies like Blockchain and Artificial Intelligence, as well as Data Science capabilities, the team is reimagining everyday experiences for Dubai residents and visitors, making them more personalised, seamless, efficient, and impactful.
The happiness meter acts as an interface to greet the visitors of the city as well as the residents at every service and experience touchpoints with keeping the interaction simple with one single tap. The Happiness Meter Dashboard combines data collected from Happiness Meters installed in service centres, websites, digital service transactions, and mobile applications. The Dubai Happiness Index is calculated in real-time, providing an instant assessment of happiness levels around the city.
No, happiness is not a laughing matter. Happiness is a serious job for the government. What is the purpose of government if it does not work toward the happiness of the people? It’s the duty and role of the government to create the right conditions for people to choose to be happy. For use in the UAE, happiness is very important.”
